2012 VIDEO

Tradition, elegance, ingenuity and response to consumer demand took high honors at the 2012 Virginia Food and Beverage Expo in Richmond. A hickory-smoked bacon, a Bloody Mary mix with a taste of the sea and a cold-brewed coffee in a reusable pouch were the winning entries in the Best New Products competition at the biennial trade show. The Expo, a Virginia-only food industry trade show, was sponsored by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS). It is the state’s premier trade show for Virginia grown and produced products, and 2012 was a record year with nearly 130 exhibitors, more than 1,200 pre-registered buyers and 53 contest entries.

Established in 1877, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) promotes the economic growth and development of Virginia agriculture, provides consumer protection and encourages environmental stewardship.

The agency is headquartered in Richmond and has several field offices, four regional diagnostic animal health laboratories and a global network of representatives promoting Virginia products internationally.
